Theater Department

The San Jose Prep Theater Department has been active in the school since opening in 2013. To date they have produced seven stage musicals and four plays. The theater department is made up of two components: Drama Club and International Thespian Society. In order for students to be inducted into the International Thespian Society they must; actively participate in a full-length show, maintain a high GPA; meet behavior and attendance standards; and have a passion for the performing arts!

The group performs on the stage in the multipurpose space located in San Jose Primary. Every member has the opportunity to learn a variety of performing arts skills including; acting, singing, dancing, set building and design, lighting control, and more! All students in grades 8-12 are welcome to join the club free of cost. All members partake in various fundraisers throughout the year in order to fund productions and improvements to the stage.

VISION: San Jose Prep Drama Club aspires to provide more opportunities for students while creating impressive shows each year. We are always improving on the quality of our performance space, performance ability, and the tools and materials for tech crew.
MISSION: San Jose Prep Drama Club provides a hands-on, student centered theater experience catering to a wide variety of members talents and abilities. We ensure student ideas are front and center. Students construct the sets, choreograph the dances, block the scenes, and create the productions.
